This two part outreach held on the 25th and 26th of August 2021 in Obiakpor local government area of Rivers State, Nigeria, was organized by League of Queens International Empowerment as a step down training of knowledge gained from participating in a similar activity hosted by WANEP Nigeria. The aim of the advocacy is to develop strategies on how to increase values, how to treat and manage infectious viruses, enhance young women’s skills in leadership, peace building capacities and the use of media in our local community.

Training day 1 focused on the medical outreach, sensitizing the people on causes, symptoms, and treatments of various diseases. And training day 2 focused on the skills acquisition education. There was a total of 54 attendees at the outreach, all community women, and they were given free medical checks including blood pressure tests, malaria and HIV tests. Nose masks and free medications were also administered to the community women.

The community head (village head) relayed the benefits of skills acquisition to the young women emphasizing the independence that comes with it. A session was taught on the manufacture of liquid washing soap with practicals held.
