Awareness Creation on Deforestation

League of Queens holds one day of awareness creation on deforestation, there were 25 persons in attendance, the facilitator was from ministry of environment, with supported by Global green grant fund

Deforestation is the removal of trees, but in Nigeria, it is the intentional cutting down of trees for infrastructural purposes, extractive activities(mining), timber, etc. Although, fire outbreak, Diseases from pests are also causes that leads to deforestation.

Climate change is a long term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth’s local, regional and global climates, which affects the ozone layers.!

1. Supporting of forestation projects.

2. Usage of dead trees.

3. Advocacy- be the pressure group that puts pressure on the government, because Government cannot pressure government.

4. Land ownership.

5. Knowledge sharing.

6. Carbon crediting.

7. Low patronage on charcoal sellers

8. Cutting of trees sustainably since we cannot fully stop the cutting down of trees.

9. Enlightenment on Environmental laws.

10. Stoppage of bush burning.

11. Targeting of stakeholders.
